With Artemyn’s public commitment to Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) as a participant with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), our local teams work to maintain high standards and offer the most sustainable product to customers.
“There is a global working group dedicated to initiatives like Labor & Human Rights, Environment, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. We also review and communicate internal procedures to raise awareness on best ESG practices within Artemyn,” says Simon Heng, Artemyn’s Sustainability and EHS Director.
Our commitment to biodiversity is reflected in the “Sightings Campaign” at Artemyn’s industrial facilities and mine in Brazil, which encourages employee participation. Staff share photos and videos of local fauna via a mobile app, including time and location. This data helps create a fauna map, identifying species, high-occurrence areas, and active periods. Mammals, birds and reptiles are most commonly recorded in the Amazon area.

In addition, environmental education for employees is essential. Based on the records of fauna in the area of influence, we share knowledge about ecological importance and conservation of species.
Using the collected data, Artemyn acquires relevant information for planning its activities, aiming to minimize environmental impact and contribute to sustainability.
Best ESG practices lead to eco-friendly products. One example is EcoBrightTM, a stabilised aqueous suspension of magnesium hydroxide that reduces the use of several traditional bleaching chemicals. It offers alkalinity, buffering effect, and cellulose fibre protection.
