From a cost standpoint mineral fillers are generally lower cost than fibre, but also can bring improvements in productivity through improved drainage and paper machine runnability.
From a performance perspective, mineral fillers can change the paper structure providing:
- improved optical performance,
- better smoothness and
- lower porosity
which enhances print performance or provides a better holdout for any subsequent coating process.

Artemyn offers a broad and well established range of ground and precipitated calcium carbonate fillers (Intracarb™ and Opti-Cal™) and kaolin fillers (Capim™) which are suitable for all applications.
We also have a range of recycled carbonate fillers consisting of at least 40% recycled minerals which provides a sustainable alternative to conventional fillers.
