The initiative benefited 60 children of an elementary school from the neighborhood next to the industrial plant of Artemyn, in Barcarena, Brazil, with an educational lecture on dental care, in addition to the application of fluoride and the distribution of dental care kits, containing a toothbrush, dental floss and toothpaste.

“This initiative is part of a volunteering initiative. We are very happy with the result of this first initiative, as we were able to reach many children who don’t have access to basic dental care services,” said Flávia Gomes, Community Relations analyst at Artemyn.

The initiative was led by dentist Rafaela Ferreira, daughter of Francivaldo Ferreira, collaborator in Artemyn’s logistics area for over 28 years. Inspired by her father’s legacy within the company, Rafaela expressed her desire to give back to the community, promoting awareness about the importance of dental care.

“Many people are unable to access dental care services in Brazil due to the cost and even the lack of professionals in some regions. This initiative guarantees guidance and opportunities to clarify doubts in general. In addition, it also maps children’s treatment needs,” said the dentist.

“We are going through a time when companies need to contribute to society and the surrounding community and I encouraged my daughter by inviting her to donate some of her time to people around Artemyn. She said yes immediately,” said Francivaldo.
