Artemyn’s Kaolin: Setting the Global Standard for Quality and Performance
At Artemyn, we take immense pride in the exceptional quality of our kaolin reserves, sourced from the renowned Capim region in Pará, Brazil.
Minerals and Solutions Minerals Kaolin
Kaolin, also known as “china clay”, is a naturally abundant hydrated aluminum silicate crystalline mineral formed by the hydrothermal decomposition of granite rocks. It is a soft, inert, white mineral with a plate-like morphology. Kaolinite has the chemical composition Al₂Si₂O₅(OH)₄.
At Artemyn, we take immense pride in the exceptional quality of our kaolin reserves, sourced from the renowned Capim region in Pará, Brazil.
Artemyn’s kaolin reserves are located in the Para region of Brazil and are renowned for their high quality. The principal strengths of these products lie in the raw material itself. “Natural engineering” delivers a combination of high brightness, narrow particle size distribution and low abrasion which cannot be matched sustainably from other global kaolin reserves.
Kaolin is used in several industries for various applications from paper to paints, fibreglass to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Artemyns’ Capim kaolins are well established as the high quality products of choice for the global paper and board markets where they are used both as fillers and for coating to bring improved surface property functionalities. The Capim kaolins bring a range of benefits such as glossiness, smoothness, printability, and improved barrier performance in paper and packaging applications.
Kaolin is a key ingredient in the Ceramics industry where its high fusion temperature and white firing characteristics provide structure, whiteness, and smoothness to the final product such as sanitaryware, tableware, wall and floor tiles, and refractories.
